In this sector, the Circolo Nautico Lavagna plays a fundamental role, an Amateur Sports Association that has been involved for years not only in planning regattas, but also teaching everything needed to sail a boat correctly. The club’s sailing school puts on weekend courses throughout the year.
Mountain bikes
If you love outdoor activities and sports, and mountain biking in particular, the municipality of Lavagna offers you many possibilities to feed your passion for two-wheeled fun.
Among the many routes, we recommend a circular route of about 21 milese, with a difference in altitude of 3,747 feet, which starts and ends in Cavi Borgo, via a tarmac road up to Monte San Giacomo, a single track up to Monte Capenardo and a cart track up to Costa Serba. A steep and narrow descent will then take you almost to Sant’Eufemiano and finally on tarmac again up to Cavi Borgo.

Vie dell'Ardesia, Lavagna
The town of Lavagna dates back to Roman times. It grew in the late Middle Ages, when it was part of the county of the Fieschi, a noble Genoese family. Already in those days it had its modern name, derived from its famous black-gold slate, extracted for over two thousand years from various spots in the area and used for construction. Devoted to tourism, Lavagna offers a long coastline which contrasts rural landscapes with many historical features, where slate is used for paving, walls and houses, but also for water distribution works, mills and olive oil works hidden by the edge of the streams.
